Coming to Chicago? Vespa Club of Chicago would love to meet you! Please contact us via email and let us know:

  • Your name(s)
  • Where you’re coming from
  • Your local/national scooter club
  • Dates/times available to meet
  • Where you’ll be staying (hotel or neighborhood)
  • Things you’d be interested in seeing or doing

We can’t promise anything, but with some advance notice, we can try to arrange a get-together. Some tips:

  • Please look at our calendar to see if there’s anything going on during your visit (note some listed events are in other cities).
  • We meet every first Tuesday of the month at Printer’s Row Brewing, that’s a perfect place to meet us!
  • Please let us know if you’re interested in trading club regalia (banners, patches, cogs, etc) and we will try to accommodate.
  • Please include your interests, we’ll do our best to find a perfect place to meet.

Please understand that it’s not always possible to arrange a meetup, but we’d be happy to recommend things to see and do, and places to eat.

Aside from Chicago’s famous landmarks, here are a few scooter-related things to check out:

Scooter shops: There are three dealers in the city: Motoworks Chicago is the Vespa and BMW dealer, Scooterworks Chicago sells PGO (Genuine) and Royal Alloy and services vintage scooters, and Second City Scooters sells SYM (Lance). They’re all friendly, and worth visiting if you’re in the neighborhood, but nothing like SIP in Germany. Scooterworks USA and Genuine Scooters share a huge warehouse in Chicago, but it’s not open to the public.

Riding: The famous Route 66 starts in Chicago and runs to California, if you have a couple weeks! Riding in the city is a bit of a shock, but we’ve found some good routes. At this time, there are no scooter rentals in Chicago (aside from motorized electric pushscooters and bicycles). If we meet up, perhaps we can loan you a scooter for a quick ride, though it’s risky for both us and you. Be sure you’re ready, with an international drivers license and good insurance, and we’ll see what we can do.

Music: Chicago is famous for live music, with many incredible music venues featuring any sort of music you could imagine. Chicago also hosts some epic R&B and rare soul parties (Our member Debbie runs Heart of Chicago Soul Club), as well as a few reggae/ska nights. Let us know your interests, and we’ll make some recommendations.

Food: This is the main reason to come here. Please don’t trust the guidebooks, there are infinite great places to eat here and we will help you find them. Don’t leave town without eating our pizza, hot dogs, and italian beef. We had this French kid stay with us once, he ate like six hot dogs a day. I don’t know what he did when he went back home. Also we can’t live without Mexican food every couple days. How does anyone exist without Mexican food?

Vespa Club of Chicago welcomes you to visit!
