Winterizing Your Scooter

Full disclosure, this is an "after" photo from the spring

Chicago is obviously the greatest city in the world, but maybe not the greatest city for all-season riding. If you’re riding all winter, more power to ‘ya (be careful!), but most of us try to avoid the snow, ice, and

Vespa Parade Day 2021

Vespa Parade Day 2021

VCOA’s national Vespa Parade Day is an ages-old tradition. At least a few ages… if my history is correct, it started with the Guinness Book of World Records attempt for the “Largest Scooter Parade” at Amerivespa 2012 in Lake Geneva,

Fox Lake Ride, May 2021

Fox Lake Ride, May 2021

With the pandemic (seemingly, hopefully) letting up a bit, and the weather improving, I’d hoped for a good turnout for our May ride, and I was not disappointed. VCOA member Mark Bradley organized the ride from Aurora, up and down

Thanks a million to JASON! This guy did most of th Thanks a million to JASON! This guy did most of the legwork getting the Amerivespa truck organized, planned and executed the complicated rigging system (twice!), loaded and unloaded the truck SIX times, DROVE THE ENTIRE 3300 MILES there and back, including some backtracking that added HOURS to the trip, had a lot of good ideas, and dealt with all the hassles calmly and cheerfully. All he asked for in return was Fuddruckers in Albuquerque, and it was closed when we got there. Luckily the return trip was much smoother and we finally got our burgers. Thanks for making this foolish/epic trip happen, Jason.
