VCOA Chicago and the Second City Scooter Society are hosting an all-day rideout to Starved Rock State Park on Sunday, October 23. We will meet at Dunkin on Harlem south of Archer (across from Portillo’s) at 9am , kickstands up at 9:30.

From there, we will ride down Archer ave to Joliet, past Old Joliet prison (where the opening for The Blues Brothers was filmed), cross through Channahon, then take back roads along the river and the quaint I&M Canal, until we reach Starved Rock. There we have several dining options at the Lodge: the main dining room, the pub, the terrace or the cafe. Or you can stretch your legs after all the riding and hike the chimney rock or any of the other trails and canyons in the area.

As always, VCOA-Chicago welcomes all scooters and scooterists, but there are practical considerations for this event… Take the distance and speed into consideration, we’ll need to hold a cruising speed around 50mph, so if you are unable to go that fast (or that slowly,) join us next time!
