VCOA-Chi Spring Prep Garage Day

The Vespa Club of Chicago, Chicago Vespisti, and Scooterworks Chicago want to help you prepare your scooter for riding season.
UPDATE: with such a big turnout expected, we won’t realistically have the time or space to do dozens of oil changes, so here’s the plan:
- At noon, grab a coffee and pastry courtesy of Scooterworks. I’ll briefly go through our “Spring Cleaning” checklist (linked below) and we can answer questions.
- After that, in the showroom, we’ll demonstrate an oil change on three scooters: a Genuine Buddy, a vintage Vespa, and a modern Vespa. We’ll look at the tools needed, and follow the proper procedures for these models, which should apply to most other scooters, and prepare you well to do it yourself.
- Following that, we’ll take any remaining time to answer questions and help folks check cable adjustment, batteries, wheels, brakes and bulbs, and we’ll rivet on some club cogs and badges.
- At about 4pm, if the weather is decent, we’ll do a quick group ride to the lake and stop for some food.
